A Pragmatic Programmers Introduction to Data Integration Studio: Hands on Workshop
If you are looking for quick guide, with step by step instructions, on how to do the standard data warehousng tasks in SAS Data Integration Studio, then read this paper. It even has screenshots!
Gregory S. Nelson, SUGI 31 2006 - Paper 111-31
Abstract
ETL is the process of moving data from a source system (such as operational systems or a table in a
database) into a structure that supports analytics and reporting (target). This workshop will guide
participants through a structured, hands-on exercise designed to give
them a broad overview of what things we can accomplish with Data
Integration Studio. Here we will prepare data for use by extracting
data from an external file, creating transformations that enrich our
data, combining it with other data for completeness and finally loading
the data into tables that are part of a star schema. The goal of this
workshop will be to get users comfortable with the tool and demonstrate
its capability.

Creating and Using SAS Stored Processes with SAS Enterprise Guide
If you are looking to use SAS Enterprise Guide to create and use Strored processes, then this paper with step by step instructions and screenshots will be very useful.
Eric Rossland, Kari Richardson, SUGI 30 - 2005 - Paper 135-30
Abstract
This hands-on workshop shows how to use SAS Enterprise Guide to create and use SAS stored processes. In particular, you will learn how to
- create a new project, run an existing stored process, and stream the results back to SAS Enterprise Guide
- add an existing SAS program to the project and use it to create, register, and test a new stored process
- add a data source to the project, run a task against it, and create, register, and test a new stored process based on that task.

Making your own Balanced Scorecard using the SAS Information Delivery Portal
SAS Portal and Stored Processes make a powerful combination, the following paper describes how OZ zorgverzekeringe created a balanced scorecard reporting applicaton using the combination.
Paul Smeekens, Erwin van Dongen,, SUGI 31 - 2006, Paper 005-31
In 2004, OZ zorgverzekeringen migrated its existing Web applications and SAS® Information Delivery Portal to the new architecture of SAS® version 9 using a central SAS® Metadata Server. With this move, all information flows were centralized in the SAS® portal. Still, the amount of information made it difficult to get a quick look into the performance of the organization as a whole. In 2005, OZ zorgverzekeringen combined several pieces of information into a balanced scorecard. The Balanced Scorecard has been made by using just AppDev Studio® and SAS/Base®. The scorecard is published within the existing SAS®-portal. Now, on the level of the entire organization as well as per department, figures are being published on the financial, internal business processes, customer, and learning and growth perspectives of the company. The balanced scorecard is giving management at OZ improved insight into how the organization is doing.

Speed It Up Active Warehousing with SAS® Data Integration: From Batch to Real-Time
This is a great paper that explains approaches to use DI Studio to manage Change Data Capture (CDC), Solwly Changing Dimensions (SCD) and integrating with Web Services.
Rausch, Nancy Hunley, Eric J. Mehler, Gary, SAS Forum 2007 - Paper 100-2007:
Abstract
The global economy has fueled a need to "speed it up" to fulfill the demand for current, reliable data for decision support. The SAS Data Integration Server, with its active warehousing capabilities, can help you meet this need.
This paper presents methods and best practices for using real-time techniques that are available in SAS Data
Integration Studio:
- change data capture (CDC)
- message queues technology
- service-oriented-architecture (SOA) technologies.
!saasInct Overview
Delivering Out-of-the-box Portlets for less than the cost of a days consulting
!saasInct is a brand name used by a group of SAS consultants from around the world who have banded together to develop extensions for the SAS 9.x software.
The group came together to solve the frustration our SAS based customer experienced when they tried to get enhancements or extensions made to the core SAS capability at their site.
We took the concept of developing one off extensions for a customer and morphed it into the idea of providing these extensions as reusable components, available for all SAS customers, at commodity prices.
As well as providing supported extensions and Portlets via the saasInct.com website, the !saasInct team also develop custom extensions for customers around the world.
If you are interested in discussing the saasInct extensions and portlets currently available, or options for development of a specific extension for your site please Contact Us.
A list of SAS 9.1 Log locations and uses
The SAS 9 Data Integration, Business Intelligence and Solution environment, creates a raft of log files and you can guarantee that at some stage you are going to have to review them to identify the source of a problem, in fact you should probably review them on an ongoing basis to indentfy any potential issues.
These logs also have a habit of getting very large, very quickly, so you may also want to archive them regualry.
So to assist with these tasks, here is a list of all the logs we could find and details of what they contain.
Documentation of these is an ongoing process, so if you can't find what you are looking for send us a note or check later. We break the logs down by:

-

An Introduction to SAS® Information Map Studio
An Introduction to SAS® Information Map Studio
Kevin Davidson · FSD Data Services, Inc. & University of Houston
ABSTRACT
SAS Information Map Studio is used to create information maps -
metadata that surfaces your data into terms that business users can
understand. Information architects can visually specify relationships
between tables so that business users can query the data and get
reports without having to know much (or any)
programming. SAS Web Report Studio will be used to demonstrate the utility of information maps.
A
couple days before the conference deadline for submitting this paper I
found out about some major upgrades to Information Map Studio, making
some of my content out-of-date. Thus I’m going make this more of an
executive summary style paper rather than a technical one with a plan
of demonstrating the latest release of the software, version 3.1,
during the presentation.
